Home Health/Nurse Staffing
Home Health companies are abounding in today’s care economy. Home health workers care for those who cannot care for themselves: for example, those with terminal illnesses or severe disabilities. Home health workers include those such as certified nursing assistants (or CNAs) and licensed practical nurses (or LPNs). These workers provide indispensable services to those they serve, such as bathing, feeding and dispensing medication. Nurse staffing companies provide nurses to serve patients in health care facilities, such as hospitals and nursing homes.
Unfortunately, both home health companies and nurse staffing companies often violate labor laws by failing to pay their workers for all hours worked, or by failing to pay overtime pay (at time-and-a-half) for hours worked over 40 in the workweek. In some cases, home health companies don’t even pay their workers the minimum wage, for example when a home care worker works a 24-hour shift and is required to serve the patient during the night.
How can we help?
Goodley McCarthy is experienced in representing workers in unpaid wage lawsuits. Typically, we bring these cases as a class action, so you won't be fighting the company by yourself. You will have a team of lawyers representing you and your co-workers. And because we take these cases on a contingent fee basis, there's no cost to you. We don't get paid unless we get money for you and the class.
